Key Security Considerations

A robust conferencing platform should include multiple layers of access control, including:

  • Secure Conference Credentials
    Require participants to enter a unique conference ID and PIN. Hosts should also have the option to generate unique participant PINs for additional verification.
  • Admin Account Protection
    The ability to password-protect conference account creation prevents unauthorized users from setting up or modifying conference sessions.
  • Password-Protected Meetings
    Hosts can further restrict access by requiring a conference-specific password known only to invited attendees.
  • Invitation-Only Access
    Detailed joining instructions (including dial-in numbers, conference IDs, PINs, URLs, and passwords) should be shared exclusively with authorized participants.
  • Participant Identification
    Display real-time participant lists and caller information using ANI (Automated Number Identification), if supported. Announcements upon entry and exit, as well as optional roll calls, help hosts monitor attendance.
  • Lockable Conferences
    Once all intended attendees have joined, hosts can “lock” the session to prevent unauthorized access.
  • Dial-Out Control
    Administrators should be able to enable or disable dial-out permissions on a per-user or account-wide basis.
